A Message from our President

Ginny Dunlop has been the acting Executive Director for the HPYO since June of 2009 when our previous Executive Director retired from this position. A search committee was formed in the fall of 2009 and spent the last many months finding the best person to fill this position.

We are pleased to announce that Diana Weir is the new Executive Director for HPYO.

Diana is a resident of Hamilton, music lover, accomplished pianist, and a strong proponent for the value of community arts. Diana holds a Combined Honours BA in Music and Cultural studies from McMaster University, is experienced working with young people in schools and the community and a skilled arts administrator.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead as we grow together.

The HPYO 2010 -2011 Season Scholarship Program

The HPYO Scholarship Program offers end of year scholarships to members who have made a significant contribution to the orchestra.

The awarding of the scholarship(s) will take into consideration some, but not necessarily all of the following criteria:

  • Has shown active participation in the orchestra and all of it's activities
  • Has shown improvement as an orchestra member
  • has been accepted into a post-secondary educational program

This program is funded in part by the Mildred Dixon Holmes Foundation.

Financial Subsidies

Some subsidies are also available for members exhibiting financial need.
